The last month has certainly been a very busy, and a very significant, time for Governance Institute, with a number of major events and some exciting initiatives getting up and running.
As you read this, our President, Andrew Horne, our International Representative, Peter Turnbull, and myself will be in London for the Annual General Meeting our international body, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) to be held on 4 October.
At this meeting, the results of the member vote on some important changes being proposed for ICSA will be decided. As I informed you in my report in the August issue of Governance Directions, the first of these initiatives is the introduction of a part-qualified class of membership to be called Affiliated Member. The other is the creation of a second designation called Chartered Governance Professional to sit alongside the existing Chartered Secretary designation.
