As I look back on 2017, I am conscious of what a busy and important year it has been for Governance Institute, and what big changes we have made. Looking forward, 2018 is shaping up to be just as busy and exciting for our organisation.
There have been a number of important initiatives implemented in the past year which will pave the way for a stronger, more financially sustainable and vibrant Institute in the years ahead.
These have included opening up new pathways to membership, which has seen a dramatic increase in the number of new members and lift in the Associate and Fellow categories for the first time in many years.
We have introduced two new governance training courses, the Effective Director Course and Working in Sport Essentials, as well as laying the groundwork for some significant improvements in our graduate diploma courses next year, including blended face-to-face and online learning, computerised online examinations, shorter examinations and a modernised assessment system.
