This Governance and Risk Update is a new event format designed to keep members informed and connected in 2026. This timely briefing will provide members with expert insight, practical experience and peer discussion to help members stay ahead of a rapidly evolving governance and risk landscape.
The event will open with a focused update on key developments shaping today’s governance and risk landscape, including governance, culture and accountability, cyber, AI and digital governance, and the ongoing challenge of financial crime. This session will equip members with a clear understanding of the most significant regulatory, technological and cultural shifts, highlighting what has changed, what is emerging, and what it means in practice for organisations and professionals.

David Kelley FGIA FCG, Director, Kelley & Co
David Kelley has more than twenty-five years of experience leading governance, risk, compliance and assurance across ASX-listed companies, multinational groups and government. He has served as Chief Risk Officer, Chief Audit Executive and Company Secretary in sectors including retail, medical devices, energy, gaming, hospitality, manufacturing, media and public administration in Australia and overseas.
Since 2016, David has been a Director of the Governance Institute’s postgraduate programs, and works as an independent advisor. He provides practical insights on organisational governance, enterprise risk, culture uplift, regulatory engagement, ESG and sustainability reporting, and the design of mature three-lines-of-defence frameworks that support effective strategy execution and organisational resilience.
