Announcement: Governance Institute & CEW Executive Scholarship
Emma brings over 20 years’ nursing and management experience across public hospitals, government agencies and the private sector to her current role as Chief Operating Officer for Affinity Health Care Group. As a values-led and transformational leader, Emma is passionate about developing and mentoring our future leaders by helping them develop skills such as managing up, solution-focussed and growth mindsets.
Thanks to CEW’s partnership with the Governance Institute of Australia, Emma now has the opportunity to study for a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management.
This Graduate Diploma prepares governance and risk management professionals for roles as Chartered Secretaries or Chartered Governance Professionals. It enhances financial literacy and risk management skills, and is the only course in Australia leading to Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) membership and a Chartered designation.
As a Chief Operating Officer, this course will further develop my ability to lead in complex environments and influence executive teams to form robust, transparent, and aligned governance processes which will support my organisation to further scale and grow.
Within a stellar pool of applications, Emma stood out for her strength of commitment to instilling good governance and accountability principles across her work, as well as her demonstrated ability to create opportunities for the advancement of women into executive leadership.
I take this opportunity seriously, I know I can continue to contribute to organisational excellence and support the women around me to be successful, in any current and future capacity. I hope I can inspire other women that collaboration and engagement are our superpowers.
