Dr Michelle Perugini, who will be speaking on artificial intelligence (AI) as a game changer at Governance Institute’s National Public Sector Governance Forum on 21 November 2023, is at the forefront of using AI to advance medicine and promote women's health, but it’s a path full of challenges.
After completing both a degree in biotechnology and a PhD in medicine, Perugini spent about 10 years in stem cell biology research and genetics, looking for new treatments for blood cancers. During that time, her partner, Don Perugini, was involved in commercialising defence technology which used AI.
