This time last year we launched our Strategy 2020–2025 following consultation with our members to identify and reflect on the vision, purpose, values and goals of Governance Institute of Australia.
This strategy is like a seed planted for a tree that will continue to grow in strength and stature. In the past 12 months, we’ve worked to cultivate its roots ― the foundation ― to ensure that we stay strong even in the most challenging environment.
Our strategic foundation has sustained us well during the uncertainty of 2020, providing guidance for our decision-making and focus as we work towards our goals.
We have been able to make the adjustments demanded by the COVID-19 pandemic within our strategy and I’m pleased to report that progress against our 2020 goals is tracking well.
As we look to 2021, we will continue to be guided by these goals.
In 2021 we will expand and deepen our member advocacy, education and professional development, utlising high-quality, objective resources to guide good governance and risk management practices.
We’ll build on our strategy to further boost the profile and reputation of Governance Institute of Australia as a strong, supportive organisation that advocates for our members with a clear and expert voice.
Your engagement in the latest instalment of our 2021 goals is very important, which is why I’m asking for your feedback.
We’re also looking at ways that we can best support our members who have been impacted by COVID-19. We know that 2020 has been an intense year for company secretaries, governance professionals, directors and risk managers and we’re keen to respond in ways that best support your needs.
