Companies that make an effort to help their staff better manage their money could see a lift in loyalty and productivity, writes ASIC Commissioner John Price.
Often in business a solution to a problem will be hiding in plain sight. In the constant contest to satisfy shareholders and pre-empt competitors, boards that focus exclusively on financial statements may be overlooking a powerfully dynamic resource: their workers. It takes more than a technology upgrade and a pay rise to get the best out of staff, however. Sometimes it’s a matter of solving the problems workers bring to work, rather than the ones they solve at work.
