Chief Executive's report — Aged care in focus

As we approach the holiday season, it is traditionally a time when we think of giving and those less fortunate. And among the more vulnerable in our community are those in aged care.

The aged care sector plays a vital role in our social fabric by supporting the comfort and dignity of older Australians. More than one million people currently receive aged care services in Australia — by 2050 it is expected that more than three and a half million Australians will be receiving aged care services as the Australian population ages and advances in medical technology increase Australians’ life expectancy.

Nearly every Australian will come into contact with the aged care sector at some stage in their lives.
