Changes affecting your dealings with ASIC

A couple of big changes have taken place that will affect how you interact with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). Its new ‘fee for service’ regime came into law and the corporate regulator is now able to receive certain document lodgments by email.

The fees ASIC charges for specific regulatory activities changed on 4 July 2018 to reflect the actual cost of the work done. This means the fees for a number of key documents reviewed by ASIC’s corporations team will rise substantially and fees will now be incurred to lodge some documents that were not charged in the past.
