Charity leaders call for Pascoe to be re-instated

Susan Pascoe

Over 100 charity leaders have written to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull following news that Susan Pascoe would step aside as head of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

In an open letter, the leaders raise concerns about the future of the ACNC and note that Commissioner Pascoe has done an impressive job in leading the organisation. Under her helm, the ACNC has developed Australia’s first ever on-line up-to-date searchable database of registered charities; registered over 11,500 new charities and de-registered over 19,000 charities that were either no longer in existence or failing to meet appropriate standards.
