Member update: Thank you to outgoing President of Chartered Governance Institute, Peter Turnbull

Governance Institute of Australia has congratulated and thanked the outgoing President of Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), Peter Turnbull AM FCG for his two years of outstanding service and commitment to good governance.

Governance Institute Chair, Pauline Vamos said Peter’s stewardship during his term as President has been exemplary.

“Peter’s oversight of the international governance membership body, during what have been undoubtedly two of the most difficult years for any organisation, has been outstanding as he has continued to drive momentum.” Ms Vamos said.

“Among Peter’s many achievements and innovations has been the forging of new pathways for membership of CGI, an initiative that recognises the evolving nature of the growing governance profession.”

Peter also developed and reached agreement on a comprehensive three-year strategic plan to guide the Divisions and global Institute as well as expanded the global Institute’s thought leadership capacity in appointing the first internal policy adviser.

Before taking on the role of President of CGI, Peter was a Governance Institute board member and is a past president.

“Peter will continue his involvement for the next 12 months as past president and as one of Australia’s divisional representatives and we look forward to continuing to work with him.” Ms Vamos said.
