Proxy adviser releases annual survey results
Read moreProxy adviser Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) has released the results of its annual global voting policy survey. ISS uses the responses to update its voting policies. Many of the issues covered in the survey are particular to the United States (such as proxy access) or other jurisdictions, but other issues apply more globally, such as director overboarding and equity remuneration for non-executive directors.

Companies strangling in regulation and red tape
Read moreThe results of a recent survey by Deloitte, Directors’ Cut, showed that the most significant issue affecting board effectiveness in the past year was the perceived burden of complying with government policy and regulation. The 50 chairs and CEOs from leading Australian companies were of the view that the impact of government regulations and corporate red tape is preventing decision-making and the capability to be agile, and as a consequence holding back levels of productivity.
