Company owner register mandatory in EU
European Union member states will have to keep a central register of the ultimate ‘beneficial’ owners of corporate and other legal entities, as well as trusts, a new anti-money laundering directive has mandated. A ‘beneficial’ owner actually owns or controls a company and its activities and ultimately authorises transactions, whether such ownership is exercised directly or by a proxy.

Super funds set 30 per cent targets for women on ASX200 boards
The Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI), representing a number of superannuation funds owning approximately 10 per cent of ASX200 companies, aims to have women comprising 30 per cent of the boards of those companies within the next three years.

Revised ASX Guidance Note 27: Trading policies
ASX has revised its Guidance Note on trading policies, with the emphasis in the new version on preventing the perception of insider trading as well as reducing the occurrence of such trading. ASX has noted that a perception of insider trading can give rise to reputational damage.
