Clean up proxies with direct voting alternative


The outdated and widely misunderstood system of appointing a proxy to vote at Annual General Meetings (AGM’s) would be less open to abuse if shareholders had the opportunity to vote directly as well, argues a discussion paper released by Chartered Secretaries Australia (CSA) today to encourage support for direct voting.
