We are looking for a candidate who is values driven, including high levels of integrity and respect; has an understanding of the clinical and commercial aspects of the health and disability sector; has sound governance knowledge via previous Board / Committee experience; available to attend up to 12 Board & Committee meetings a year; has commercial acumen and is a clear communicator. Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre INC (CNLC) is a Neighbourhood House, Learn Local provider and Registered Training Organisation providing migrants, refugees and Carlton community members with classes, course, and community strengthening activities that connect community, create opportunities and challenge disadvantage and inequality. CNLC is a not-for-profit community based organisation, with a staff team of eft 9.0, operating from 4 sites in Carlton and Carlton North.
CNLC is seeking expressions of interest for two vacancies on the voluntary Committee of Governance with applicants requested to commit for a two – three year minimum period. The Committee of Governance meeting is held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6pm. In addition, committee members are encouraged to join either the Operations Sub-Committee (usually a Tuesday night at 6pm) or the Strategic Sub-committee (usually a Thursday night at 6pm.)

Gowrie Victoria, based in Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking two volunteer Board members.
Gowrie Victoria is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing education and care to children aged 0 – 5 years old, training for early learning staff, and specialist training and consultancy services to the early childhood sector. We have approximately 250 staff across our Docklands, Carlton North, Broadmeadows and Yarraville sites. We are poised to double our size and reach in the next 2 to 3 years. One new Board member should have expertise in the social services or welfare sectors with strong public sector experience. The other should possess strong financial and commercial acumen including CPA/CA membership or similar qualifications. High level corporate governance skills are also required. Experience of growth and cultural change at a senior executive or Board level, working with government, graduate AICD qualifications, and previous board experience would be an advantage.
We hold 10 regular Board meetings each year. There may also be additional sub-committee work required.

Aspergers Victoria Incorporated (DGR status) based in Melbourne Victoria, is seeking a volunteer Board Secretary. The Board Secretary plays a critical role in facilitating Board organisation, communication and diligence through overseeing the Association’s memberships, record keeping including meeting minutes and actions, organising our Board meetings including AGM, and ensuring association compliance with our organisation's Rules and legal requirements.
The Secretary also has an integral role in the Board team, driving vision and strategy to empower Aspergers and further build a sustainable and impactful not for profit. Their strategy is focused on building Asperger community connections, self-empowering supports, as well as improving employment outcomes and advocating for change. Your commitment will include eight Board meetings per annum in Melbourne’s CBD or South East, in evenings bimonthly as well as involvement in one of the Board committees, and completing tasks with the role. The role is for a min. of two (2) years.
Experience with Boards and suitable governance qualifications are required, with strong communication and organisation skills, contacts network and prefer lived experience of Aspergers (autism level!).
