Volunteer governance opportunities

Governance Institute is pleased to offer a complimentary web listing service for Not-for-Profit organisations requiring assistance in their governance practices. Many NFP organisations would benefit from help from qualified Governance Institute members and we encourage members to offer their support.

Birali Steiner School Board, based in Beachmere, Queensland, is seeking a volunteer Board Director to assist with Board Governance accountabilities including finance, risk, and accountability within the Steiner Philosophy. The school is in a growth phase and the current Board are committed to ensure smooth transition to the next stage of development. Samarinda Ashburton Aged Services Inc, located in Ashburton, Victoria, is seeking several volunteer Non-Executive Directors to assist with providing the board with knowledge and expertise in the areas of home care and NDIS, although those with other skill areas will also be considered. Your commitment will include attending monthly board meetings and also being a member of one of our board subcommittees. National Council of Women Victoria Inc based in Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking a volunteer Secretary with interest in the NFP sector to actively participate in the Executive Committee and take responsibility for preparation and circulation of meeting agenda, minutes and the AGM. Avenue Neighbourhood House@Eley, based in Melbourne, provides low cost social and recreational activities alongside a large occasional childcare centre. ANH@E is a NFP Registered Training Organisation providing accredited educational courses for people with low literacy/numeracy. Expressions of interest are invited for two Committee of Management vacancies. Willingness to contribute to Neighbourhood House governance obligations in support of a community development model of practice, alongside legal or finance skills, are sought. Mater Christi College, based in Belgrave, Victoria, is seeking a volunteer Non-Executive Board Director to assist with leadership, strategic development and governance of the College, complementing the experience and skills of existing board directors. Encouraging Women in Horticulture Australia Inc (EWHA), based in Melbourne, Victoria is seeking a volunteer Secretary to assist with the administration and legal functions of the Association, be a primary contact for the Association, assist with planning and delivery of events and other projects the Association may undertake. Your commitment will include monthly meetings which are held the second Wednesday of the month, from 8pm.
