Volunteer governance opportunities
Governance Institute is pleased to offer a complimentary web listing service for Not-for-Profit organisations requiring assistance in their governance practices. Many NFP organisations would benefit from help from qualified Governance Institute members and we encourage members to offer their support.
NFP organisations currently requiring assistance:
The Gomo Foundation, based in Melbourne, is seeking a volunteer Company Secretary to drive the next evolution of its corporate governance systems and processes, and to fulfil the role of company secretary, including to prepare for board meetings and ensure adherence to NFP corporate governance obligations, duties and responsibilities. Your commitment requires a flexible 5-6 hours per week, plus attending board meetings each month (online during Covid, then CBD). For a full position description, further information or expressions of interest please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications close 24 July 2020.
AACBT (Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy) is based in Australia. We have directors spread throughout Australia, so they meet virtually each month, plus typically two face-to-face meetings each year. Following the recent resignation of our inaugural Company Secretary, we are seeking a voluntary Company Secretary to assist with our ASIC responsibilities and corporate governance. Your commitment would average at approx. 5 hours per month, and would include attendance as a non-voting member of the Finance Committee and provision of advice to the Board. The Board meets virtually for 60-90 minutes, and Finance Committee meets virtually for 30-60 minutes, both monthly on a week day. For further information please contact Peter Pohlman, email@example.com, ph 0447 142 352. Applications close 31 July 2020.
