Governance Institute is pleased to offer a complimentary web listing service for Not-for-Profit organisations requiring assistance in their governance practices. Many NFP organisations would benefit from help from qualified Governance Institute members and we encourage members to offer their support.

Council on the Ageing (Victoria) Inc, based in Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking a volunteer Board Member to assist with representing the interests and rights of older people as a member of the organisation’s Board of Directors. We are particularly interested in a person with experience in Law, community legal centres and/or the community sector.  Previous or current Board experience would be highly regarded. Your commitment will include attending a maximum of six board meetings held every two months at our St Kilda Road location or by video conference if restrictions require us to. The Australian Centre for Disability Law, based in Sydney, New South Wales, is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to assist with: ensuring the organisation and Management Committee understands its financial obligations, complies with tax regulations and has appropriate procedures to protect against fraud and theft. The role will also include overseeing the development of the annual budget, implementation of financial management policies and procedures and review of internal processes and reporting methods. The Committee meets every quarter (up to 6 meetings a year); approx time commitment is up to 5 hours a month. Mater Christi College, based in Belgrave, Victoria, is seeking a volunteer Non-Executive Board Director to assist with leadership, strategic development and governance of the College, complementing the experience and skills of existing board directors. A min of 5 years practical with compliance, general company secretarial duties, knowledge of director’s responsibilities, advanced communication & interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail & proven ability to support a Board & advisor’s. Have demonstrated knowledge of company secretarial requirements & relevant statutory processes. Your commitment will be a min one year term. Cerebral Palsy Support Network, based in Melbourne, Victoria is seeking a volunteer Board General Member to assist with its diverse, skill-based Board to govern the organisation through its next phase of development. Applicants will be experienced in their respective professions and those who possess solid business acumen in disability services, finance, and information technology will be considered favourably. Applicants passionate about human rights and equality would be good fits for the role. Lived experience or a personal connection with cerebral palsy is desirable but not mandatory. The Government House Foundation of Western Australia Inc is seeking a volunteer Treasurer. The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance and conserve the historic and contemporary significance of Government House and the role of the Governor within the community. The role involves providing Accounting and Governance advice and supervising the monthly and annual accounts. There are 11 meetings per year at Government House in Perth and additional assistance as required in Foundation activities. Dougherty Apartments Retirement Housing Project, based in Chatswood, NSW, is seeking a volunteer Clinical Advisor to assist with clinical governance, continuous improvement, quality of care and customer feedback. Your commitment will include attending the Clinical Governance Committee six times a year in Chatswood or Teams for 2 hours each meeting. The Clinical Advisor is not a Director as the Constitution currently limits the number of Directors; however, it may become a Director in the future. Noongar Mia Mia is an Aboriginal-owned-and-operated not for profit Community Housing Provider exclusively serving Indigenous Western Australians and their families living in south-west Western Australia. We are working towards becoming a Registered Housing Provider with the WA Department of Communities, and are seeking a volunteer Governance Advisor to assist with the registration process in terms of capacity to meet requirements (e.g. business plans, policy documents, finances, contracts, etc.) and compliance with these policies and systems. Duties include helping with areas including policies & records management, reviewing our Constitution and business plan, creating a compliance audit/monitoring process, and general governance advice.
