Speaker Highlights

Jacob Elkhishin, Partner, RSM Australia 

Jacob Elkhishin is a Director in RSM’s Risk Advisory division, specialising in Climate Change and Sustainability Services in Brisbane. He is the National leader of Resources, Mining, Energy and Sustainability, as well as RSM’s Global Chair of ESG and Climate services. He has over 18 years’ experience in the provision of Risk, ESG and internal audit services working in both public and private sectors.  

Jacob has assisted clients in the Energy and Resources Industry (Electricity, Mining, Oil and Gas), Transport, Infrastructure, and the Public SectorHe works closely with Senior Management and regularly presents reports to Boards and Audit Committees. 

Elizabeth Ploetz, Manager, RSM Australia 

Elizabeth is a Manager within RSM’s ESG and Climate Services Team with over 5 years’ experience in the provision of ESG assurance and consulting engagements. Elizabeth has delivered on sustainability-related engagements for organisations in private and public sectors. Her extensive ESG experience includes assurance engagements under various schemes including the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (“NGER”), Safeguard Mechanism, Renewable Energy Target (“RET”) and the ACCU scheme (formerly known as the Emissions Reduction Fund).   

As part of the ESG and Climate Services Team, Elizabeth has assisted clients with sustainability reporting, ESG strategy & roadmap development and implementation. She has also undertaken climate-related risk assessments with clients and conducted emissions baseline assessments. Elizabeth also assists clients with providing insights on their current ESG performance, identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement, including their preparedness for mandatory climate disclosure requirements.  

In addition, Elizabeth has experience in broader corporate governance and enterprise risk management having been involved in consulting engagements in these areas. Her experience includes development and implementation of enterprise-wide frameworks and supporting governance, risk and compliance systems.  

Elizabeth has worked across diverse industries including mining, energy and oil refineries, manufacturers, agriculture, and financial services.
