Kayla’s international governance experience spans across Australia, the United States and Canada in government-trading enterprise in the energy and renewables sector, and both strategic and operational boards in Australia's not-for-profit sector. Most recently, Kayla was promoted into Chairperson of the global Governance and Compliance Committee of the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation. Prior to discovering her intellectual fascination with governance and affinity for 'wicked problems', Kayla enjoyed a legal career spanning across insurance litigation, compensation claims and commercial disputes.

In 2023, Kayla also completed the Business and Law High Achievers Program with Curtin University, obtained her International Board Director Competency Designation (IBDC.D) from M.A. Pfister Strategy Group in New York and became a Certified International Negotiator (CIN) with the Chartered Institute of Professional Certifications. Kayla was also a Finalist in the 3YS Owls Governance Top 100 in Australia for the past 4years in a row (2019-2023).
In 2023, Kayla also launched an initiative called 'The Governance Millennial' with a view to reframing the common criticisms pointed in her generation's direction and demonstrating their unique value-add when occupying seats at the [boardroom] table.
