Assessment in postgraduate courses

Assessment requirements

All assessment items for each subject are required to be undertaken by students enrolled in the:

Graduate Certificate of Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management; and
Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Corporate Governance and Risk Management courses; and
Non-award study via the assessable mode.

 

Every postgraduate subject offered by Governance Institute comprises three assessment items, where all subjects have the same weightings for each assessment item, except for three subjects: Applied Corporate Law, Public Sector Accountability and Transparency and Risk Management Project, as summarised below:

Students must achieve a minimum of 40% (30/75 marks) in the final exam; and to pass the whole subject, the combined marks from all assessment items must total to a minimum of 50%.

Assessment policy and guidelines

Assessments for each postgraduate subject at Governance Institute are conducted in accordance with its Assessment Policy.

Examinations are conducted online by an independent online proctoring service called Examity. Examity is a google chrome browser extension that facilitates the proctoring of students online examination at Governance Institute and it is accessed via the learning management system.

The examinations for all students will be held during the publicised examination week. Examinations are primarily held during the day (AEDT/AEST) and in accordance with the Examinations Policy.

Results release and academic records

Subject results will be released per the ‘Semester Results Release’ timeframe listed in the Assessment dates table above, after ratification by the Academic Board. Thereafter results will be accessible to students on their academic record. Students will be notified by email when results are available.
