Through advising Chairs, Boards, Committees, Managing Directors and Executives on corporate governance, Lisa has enabled active and adaptive management approaches to aid in the delivery of business strategies and enable effective decision making.

Julie has over 20 years’ experience presenting director education and has worked with leading institutions such as The Governance Institute of Australia. As an experienced board director with current directorships, an international expert on corporate governance, and a corporate governance advisor to mid and small-cap boards, Julie champions the cause of directors required to shoulder enormous responsibility with limited resources.

David began his career as a Head-hunter / Board Search Consultant in London where he recruited hundreds of individuals into some of the most significant board and executive appointments in the world. During this time and since he has reviewed well over 10,000 board CVs, interviewed thousands of board candidates and taken briefs from hundreds of Chairs on what they wanted in successful candidates. He has since helped thousands of people gain board roles through a simple and easy-to-implement board appointment process – a process he is going to explain to you today.

As a lawyer with over 30 years’ experience, Fiona Shand has represented directors and professionals in private practice and industry in Australia, Switzerland and Hong Kong. In Switzerland, she was commonwealth legal counsel for F. Hoffmann La Roche Pharmaceuticals, and as a result was involved in worldwide legal and strategic issues, reporting to boards and committees on legal, governance and compliance issues.

Carole Alt is a non-executive director and governance consultant with extensive corporate sector experience across private and public companies. She specialises in fit-for-purpose corporate governance, including board practice, director duties, risk management, ESG and strategy. Carole is a facilitator for a number of GIA courses, including the Effective Directors Course, risk management and company secretary practice. Carole enjoys bringing governance concepts to life and is energised by gnarly governance issues.

  • Dr Srechko Kontelj FGIA, FCG

Srechko is an experienced international lawyer with over 30 years legal practice and executive Director experience including twenty years Australian Defence Force experience as a Specialist Reserve Legal Officer. Srechko has a long history of community service, particularly in local government and advocacy on behalf on behalf of ethnic communities, for which he was awarded the Order of Australia and Centenary medals. He is the former Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong

From change, careers and transitions, Executive development and executive search/recruitment, Deborah specialises in people! The holder of a Masters in Organisational Leadership, Coaching qualifications, she is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, as well as holding a number of Non-Executive Director positions. Having been a Chair, NED, and CEO she understands the dynamics of the market and pressures on organisations to perform.

Shaun Conroy is a current Director and Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. He is an experienced Chair and Non-Executive Director and has held board roles in financial services, food and agriculture, engineering services, ICT recycling, education, and not-for-profit companies. Shaun’s corporate experience spans financial services and international trade, with roles in Auckland, Brisbane, HK, Tokyo, and Singapore.

Suzanne is a governance professional and Non-Executive Director and leads the Board Advisory Service for the Executive Search Firm, Lester Blades based in WA. Suzanne has served on Boards including arts, sport and international development. Suzanne is currently the Chair of Stanley College,  is on the Board of the WA Cancer Council and was recently appointed to the St John of God Ministries Advisory Committee. Suzanne is a member of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce Council in WA and also Patron of the WA Vietnam Business Council.
