This course provides a comprehensive exploration of systems thinking and its application within organisational contexts. Participants will learn to view organisations through a systems lens, understanding the complex interplay of elements that contribute to overall viability. The course examines governance as a system of direction and control and how to apply systems thinking to address governance challenges.  The course delves into systems modelling, focusing on control system diagrams as a tool for visualising and managing organisational dynamics. Participants will also explore systems archetypes, identifying common organisational problems and anti-patterns that can hinder success.

The importance of measurement in maintaining organisational resilience and viability is emphasised, with a particular focus on how feedback mechanisms enable organisations to thrive. The course also highlights the role of systems thinking in continuous improvement, demonstrating how these tools can be integrated into broader organisational strategies.

By the end of the course, participants will have a robust understanding of how to apply systems thinking to identify and address root causes of problems, rather than merely addressing symptoms, make improved decisions that consider long-term impacts and interdependencies, and reduce unintended consequences to drive organisational resilience.
