Certificate in Governance for Not-for-Profits
The Certificate in Governance for Not-for-Profits is designed to address the learning needs of a wide range of professionals with varying levels of governance responsibilities in the NFP sector. Designed and taught by experts in the intricate area of governance for NFPs, you’ll leave confident in your ability to support good governance practices in your NFP.
Our Certificates include a mix of six compulsory and elective short courses. You can complete these courses online, face-to-face or virtually. They are open entry with no prior qualification required.
If you complete a face-to-face or virtual Certificate, you have the option to do this via our intensive mode (six short courses across three consecutive days or across three weeks). Please note: when registering for intensive mode, electives will be selected for you, these electives can be changed subject to availability.
To graduate from a Certificate, you must complete and pass the online multiple choice exams for each of the six short courses required for your Certificate, within a 12-month period.
When doing a short course online, your 30-day access to the course recordings and subject materials starts on the day you pay for the short course.

There is no extra fee to register in a Governance Institute Certificate. The cost of a Certificate is the combined cost of the six short courses:
- Members: $2,910
- Subscribers: $3,390
- Non-members: $3,570.
