About the role

The Business Relationship Manager, Governance Academy is part of Governance Institute’s Education Team.  This role is responsible for ensuring that the Governance Academy, (“the academy”) – the education, training and research hub of Governance Institute – gains traction in the market by establishing its brand and developing strong networks with partners and collaborators.

Reporting to the General Manager, Education, this role requires a high-level of strategic acumen, strong project management skills and relationship management expertise.  The successful candidate will be an experienced partnerships manager who will take responsibility for the establishment, management and engagement of mutually beneficial business relationships to support the growth of the academy.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An education or training qualification (undergraduate degree or higher qualification) and extensive relevant experience in education and training leadership is essential
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, relationship management and experience in successfully developing, implementing and sustaining mutually beneficial business relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve strategic priorities and outcomes against set timelines, and a proven record in securing and developing strategic partnerships within the tertiary sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, liaise and negotiate effectively and sensitively with senior executives to build productive relationships and facilitate mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating business proposals, tenders and contracts in line with policies and processes around strategic sourcing and contract management.
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and analytical skills and the ability to develop and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership of education strategies
  • Experience chairing or managing committees and managing relationships with external stakeholders including academics and students
