Cancellation, transfer & credit policy

Seminars, briefings, workshops and networking events

Should you be unable to attend this event, a substitute delegate is always welcome. An additional charge may be applicable, for example, where a non-member substitutes for a member. A full refund will be made for cancellations made in writing (letter, fax, email) more than 10 business days prior to the event. Regrettably, no refunds can be made after that time. Circumstances may arise where this event may be cancelled or postponed, and in those instances, a full refund or transfer will be offered.

Face-to-face & virtual training – Certificate and short courses

Refunds

Should you be unable to attend this course, a substitute delegate is always welcome however, an additional charge may be applicable, for example, where a non-member substitutes for a member. A full refund will be issued for cancellations received in writing more than 10 business days prior to the course. Regrettably, as access to course materials are provided 10 business days prior to the course, no refunds will be issued after this time. Please note, if you are unable to attend the course you will still be able to access your learning materials and exam from our online learning centre.

Transfers

Transfer requests made more than 10 business days before the course: Requests to transfer to a different course location or date are required in writing more than 10 business days prior to the course commencing.

Transfer requests made within 10 business days of the course: If you are unable to attend the course and can provide a medical certificate, we will transfer you to another course subject to availability. If you are unable to attend and cannot provide a medical certificate, you will incur a fee of 50% of the original cost of the registration and we will transfer you to a new course subject to availability.

All transfer requests are permitted once per student only and are subject to availability. Subsequent transfers will incur a fee of 50% of the original cost of the registration. Any difference in the course fee will be payable by you or refunded by us as applicable.

Extensions

Extensions will be granted only in circumstances where significant illness or injury substantially impacts the student within the course entitlement period, with medical evidence required. Work, holiday, or other study commitments will not be considered as cause for extension requests.

Approval of extensions will be at the discretion of the Governance Institute Education Leadership Team. Requests for extensions should be addressed to the Governance Institute Education Leadership Team at customerservice@governanceinstitute.com.au.

Missed attendances

Attendance for all modules is strongly encouraged and attendance at module three, the boardroom simulation experience is a requirement of successful graduation from the course. A make-up session for module 3 is available once and subject to availability.

You can submit a written request to training@governanceinstitute.com.au and if there is availability at upcoming courses, we will consider your request. Requests made 10 business days prior to the course commencing will be prioritised.

​Online training – Certificate and short courses

As access to course all materials are provided on payment of your course, regrettably no refunds will be made.

Requests to transfer to a different elective are required in writing no more than 5 business days after payment of the Certificate and will only be granted if the elective short course materials have not been accessed. Transfer requests are only permitted once. All transfer requests are to be sent to: training@governanceinstitute.com.au.

Governance and Risk Management Forum

Should you be unable to attend this event, a substitute delegate is always welcome. An additional charge may be applicable, for example, where a non-member substitutes for a member. A refund will be made for cancellations made in writing (letter, fax, email) more than 10 business days prior to the event; however, a cancellation fee of $175 (including GST) ($85 for South Australia) will be charged where a registration is for one day or more, and half of that for a half day. Regrettably, no refunds can be made after that time. Circumstances may arise where this event may be cancelled or postponed, and in those instances a full refund or transfer will be offered.

Public Sector Update

Should you be unable to attend this event, a substitute delegate is always welcome. An additional charge may be applicable, for example, where a non-member substitutes for a member. A refund will be made for cancellations made in writing (letter, fax, email) more than 10 business days prior to the event; however, a cancellation fee of $85 (including GST) will be charged where a registration is for one day or more, and half of that for a half day. For live webinars, should you be unable to attend this event, a substitute delegate is always welcome. An additional charge may be applicable, for example, where a non-member substitutes for a member. Circumstances may arise where this event may be cancelled or postponed, and in those instances, a full refund or transfer will be offered.

For recorded webinars, as access to the recording is provided on payment of your event, regrettably no refunds will be made.

Supplier directory and career opportunities

Your listing will be published upon payment for the supplier directory or careers service. No refunds are available.

Credits

Where you are eligible to receive a refund for any of the above activities and the amount is above $300, we can, at your request keep the funds as a credit balance for you. This credit balance is to be used within 12 months or it is forfeited.
