Not-for-profit governance

Governance and risk management solution for not-for-profit organisations

Governance Institute of Australia offers a number of products and services tailored for not-for-profit (NFP) organisations to help improve standards and efficiency within the sector and empower organisations to operate successfully in today's business environment.

In recent years, there has been an increased focus on the governance and administration of NFP organisations, as highlighted by various inquiries and reports examining the sector and changes to the regulatory regime.

Ensuring the practice of good governance is Governance Institute's core focus and business. As the provider of the best education, training, intellectual capital and support in governance and risk management, we can actively assist NFP organisations to drive responsible performance.

A range of solutions are available specifically for NFP organisations.

Certificate in Governance for Not-for-Profits

Our Governance Institute-accredited, open-entry certificate supplements our existing range of Certificates and specialist short courses, and features five courses specifically designed to address NFP governance, risk and compliance issues.

Completion of the Certificate leads to Certificated membership of Governance Institute of Australia, providing ongoing learning and support opportunities for both staff and Directors of NFP organisations.

Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance

The industry standard, higher-education accredited Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance provides in-depth understanding of good governance principles for those performing or wishing to assume senior roles, or to ensure any organisation maintains sound governance practices.

Completion of the Graduate Diploma meets the educational requirement for Associate membership of Governance Institute of Australia.

Complimentary governance volunteer advertising service

NFPs needing long-term or ongoing governance services, for example a volunteer company secretary or board directors, can list their requirements free of charge on Governance Institute's website. Interested Governance Institute members can contact the NFP directly to offer support.
